Executive Chef Profile

Meet Ryan Morrison, Executive Chef at Canada Life Place

As Executive Chef with OVG Hospitality at Canada Life Place, Ryan Morrison leads the culinary team responsible for delivering food experiences for thousands of people throughout the year. From serving fans and concertgoers to preparing meals for some of your favourite performers and athletes, along with the crews who bring their shows and events to life, Ryan gets a unique behind-the-scenes perspective on the biggest names coming through the venue. Whether it's feeding thousands of fans on a busy event night or catering to the specific needs of touring artists and their crews, preparation, consistency and quality are always at the forefront.

When developing menus, Ryan looks for approachable food that guests can enjoy and connect with. He draws inspiration from social media, other sporting venues and emerging food trends, looking for opportunities to bring new ideas to Canada Life Place while adding his own twist. He also values supporting local businesses and incorporating local partnerships into the venue's food and beverage offerings.

Ryan's passion for the culinary industry began at just 13 years old, working at Sanders on the Beach in Grand Bend. He quickly developed an appreciation for the camaraderie of working in a kitchen, the energy of a busy service and the creativity involved in preparing and presenting great food. He continued to build his experience at Palasad, where he was given significant responsibility at a young age and gained valuable experience managing restaurant operations and serving groups of all sizes.

Ryan describes his cooking style in three words: identifiable, simple and delicious. He believes great food starts with getting the basics right, with an emphasis on flavour, presentation and consistency.

A fan of sports and live entertainment himself, Ryan enjoys being part of the experience behind the scenes and helping bring together the people, planning and preparation that make each event special. Whether it's a bag of popcorn, a slice of pizza or a smashburger, his goal is to ensure everyone enjoying food at Canada Life Place leaves satisfied and looks forward to their next visit.
